A stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Spokane

This summer our family drove to Montana, to the Flathead Valley, to visit my parents and our other relatives. We find it best to break the drive up into two days. The drive to Columbia Falls, MT takes around nine hours, so we like to relax and make the trip more leisurely by just driving four or five hours each day. This time our stopover was in Spokane, WA and we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott by the Convention Center.

The hotel worked out good and was just right for us. The Bistro restaurant, located right in the lobby, was just the ticket for us. Upon checking in and getting settled in in our room which was located on the first floor, we just had to walk down the hall and into the restaurant. The round booths by the window all had screens so our boys could watch Paw Patrol while my husband and I looked at the menu and ordered dinner. The service is pretty casual, you head to the counter and order, then they'll bring it to you. They had a full bar so we each ordered an Old Fashioned. For food, my husband and I shared a Caesar Salad and a Margherita Flatbread. Our boys shared the Cheese Quesadilla from the kids menu. The dinner really hit the spot after being in the car all afternoon and the cocktail packed a punch.

The hotel pool was also just right. And we were pleased that the pool was just down the hall from our room. We also liked that our first floor room opened right to a courtyard with lots of places to sit and relax.

The next morning before checking out and driving the rest of the way to Montana, we ate breakfast at The Bistro again and even grabbed the same booth with the TV. My husband chose an omelet with potatoes and some greens, and I had the Banana Bread French Toast. Our sons had pancakes from the regular menu since they're wasn't any on the kids menu. Everything was a little pricy because of the convenience, but the food was tasty and arrived fast to the table. My French Toast was a big serving and I only finished two thirds of it. I really liked the bananas and walnuts and it was a nice, hearty meal. Just right for hitting the road. Then it was time to head to Montana.
